question is a no brainer. You know you need to drop weight if you
are obese. However, you can be overweight and not
obese. The two states are mutually exclusive from one

at least forty pounds overweight. But other professionals have other definitions.
Obesity is cause for concern about your overall health and
wellbeing in addition to how you look. Obesity puts you at
risk for many health problems. It is also linked to
an early death.

on your weight, then you probably need to drop some pounds. If
someone has actually told you that you should lose weight, you
should take that seriously. If you doctor mentioned your weight at
your last visit, then you should really take that advice seriously. Your
doctor knows what your ideal weight should be and
knows the complications tied to being overweight.
Lots of people get their feelings hurt when their weight
is pointed out to them. If someone tells them they should
lose weight, they feel ashamed. But if someone points out
your weight to you, then they are likely concerned about your
health. It is not pleasant to tell someone they need

weight to lose before they realize they

pounds, then more pounds follow behind them. Those few pounds get

wear your clothing, then you have to buy a new
wardrobe. That's expensive.
Do you get winded when you
climb a flight of stairs? If the answer is yes, you need to lose
weight. Can you walk around the block without huffing and puffing?
If you can't, then you need to shed some pounds. You could get out
of breath through simple activity, but not be overweight. More
likely than not, however, it is a
weight issue. If you were already questioning your weight
and you realize how easily you get
out of breath, then you have your answer. Even a
modest weight loss will impact your ability to engage in physical
activity and not get winded or out of breath. If
you have to take your kids to the park or run
around with them to play, then you really want to
consider dropping pounds.
